“MODERN METHODS OF SEISMIC HAZARD ASSESSMENT AND EARHTQUAKE PREDICTION”
October, 22-23, 2025
The conference is held every two years, starting from 2019, and its topics traditionally cover key areas of geophysics, seismology, and geodynamics. At the conference in 2025, a wide range of issues will be discussed, including the development of new approaches to assessing seismic hazards and risks, identifying potential locations for strong earthquakes, and advancing methods for studying earthquake sources. Additionally, current problems in geodynamics and mathematical geophysics will be addressed, focusing on the application of mathematical methods to study the structure and processes within Earth’s three layers: the crust, mantle, and core.
Topics of the Conference
Assessment of seismic hazard and other natural risks.

The event will cover methods of forecasting the places of possible occurrence of the strongest seismic events, earthquake forecasting algorithms, as well as approaches to assessing the reliability and validity of the obtained results. Special attention is paid to the development of new principles and measures aimed at reducing damage from natural disasters.

Geodynamics.
The focus is on the study of the structure of the Earth’s crust, mantle and core, the analysis of earthquake focal parameters, and the study of global and regional seismicity.

Structure and state of the Earth’s interior based on geophysical and seismological data.
The conference deals with methods of mathematical geophysics, in particular the development of mathematical apparatus for solving direct and inverse problems of geophysics, as well as actual problems of theoretical magnetohydrodynamics.

Methods of seismological data acquisition and processing.
The focus is on advanced methods of seismological data acquisition and processing, including modern seismic equipment, distributed acoustic sounding technologies, hardware and software systems for geophysical monitoring, and methods of working with macroseismic data.
Methods of Mathematical Geophysics.
The conference deals with methods of mathematical geophysics, in particular the development of mathematical apparatus for solving direct and inverse problems of geophysics, as well as actual problems of theoretical magnetohydrodynamics.

Geophysical effects associated with earthquakes.
The program encompasses investigations into tsunami waves and gravitational processes, the analysis of electromagnetic anomalies and infrasonic signals, and the monitoring of variations in hydrogeological parameters and electrical rock properties in seismically active zones.
