Labor activity. Since 1977 – the Geophysical Center RAS (modern name), from junior to chief scientist, since 2009 – chief scientist at the IEPT RAS.

Research areas

  • Statistics of power-law distributions in relation to problems of seismic hazard, damage values, distributions of oil and gas and ore field reserves.
  • Physics of the seismic process, mechanisms of occurrence of earthquakes at different depths, statistics of seismicity characteristics.
  • Analysis of precursors, construction and analysis of a generalized neighborhood of a strong earthquake; approaches to physically based seismic prediction.
  • Deep fluid regime in relation to the problems of seismogenesis, ore genesis and the emergence of hydrocarbon deposits.
  • Paleoseismology, estimation of PGVs from ancient earthquakes from field data (author’s method). Assessment of long-term seismic hazard.
  • Data analysis algorithms

Teaching activities and scientific guidance (if available) – a few lectures at special courses of the Physics Department of Moscow State University.

Participation in projects of the Russian Science Foundation, RFBR. Since 2012 – 8 projects of the RFBR (4 of them – leader), previously information was lost.
