According to the to the USGS/NEIC on-line database there are six earthquakes that qualify for being M7.5+ in the second half of 2002. Four of them have average Ms magnitude of 7.5 or greater. The other two are deep events near Fiji Islands of MW’s greater than 7.5. Here is the list with the M8-MSc prediction outcome –
There are concerns about sizing these earthquakes. The changes of the parameters of the largest earthquakes on transition from the NEIC Quick Epicenter Determinations and PDE-Weekly to the final catalog will be accounted in the Test statistics.
