Prediction Background

The August, 1993 M=8.2 Guam earthquake epicenter falls inside the M8 TIP (highlighted circles) in progress from January 1991 through January 1996 inside CI##92-94 (Table of CIs for M8.0+) and inside the area (highlighted rectangles) where it was more likely according to the MSc algorithm. The two diamonds mark locations of earthquakes with magnitudes 6.6 and 5.1 that happened on a ground of M8 alarm: the larger one, which magnitude is very infrequent here, is two months in advance of the 1993 Guam earthquake, while the second stroke the epicenter zone five days before the great shock.
